IV.Questions raised before engagement

Answers to the questions institutional clients ask first.

The questions a chief executive, chief financial officer, bank officer or investment committee raises before instructing an advisory firm — addressed in the firm's own words.

Can the firm support complex transactions?
The advisory scope includes multi-tranche structured credit, ECA-backed facilities, borrowing-base lines and receivables structures. Applicable documentary rules and procedural risks are addressed within the agreed scope.
Does the firm address banking procedures?
The practice covers SWIFT message families (MT700 / MT760 / MT799), reimbursement mechanics, confirming-bank participation and discrepancy review.
Is the firm discreet and confidential?
Engagement terms can include appropriate confidentiality provisions. Information is handled within the agreed advisory scope and coordinated with authorised parties.
Will the firm protect our interests?
The firm acts in an advisory capacity and does not issue, sell, lease or broker financial instruments. Scope, deliverables and fees are documented before work begins.
Can the firm coordinate multiple jurisdictions?
The firm can support coordination among local counsel, tax advisers, banks and compliance teams where a transaction spans multiple jurisdictions.
Can the firm solve problems brokers cannot?
Where a transaction requires structural redesign — security architecture, jurisdictional rerouting, sanctions remediation or refinancing of contested facilities — the firm advises on the architecture itself, not on instrument placement.
What is the engagement basis?
A written terms-of-reference setting out scope, deliverables, timing and fee basis is signed before any work begins. Typically retainer-and-success or fixed scope.
Who coordinates the initial enquiry?
Mikhail Kogan, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), is the identified primary contact for corporate and mandate enquiries.

For matters requiring fuller discussion, the firm is available for a confidential introductory call by appointment.
